About Dr Katrina

Dr Katrina Warren is a veterinarian who first appeared on our television screens in 1994 as a presenter on the children’s show, Totally Wild. She then went on to co-host the hit television show, Harry’s Practice and became a household name for promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Dr Katrina regularly appears across all media platforms- television, radio, print and internet. She has written four books, regularly mc’s events and does dog training talks and demonstrations. Katrina hosted her own show, Housecat Housecall for Animal Planet, (US) and is currently resident veterinarian on the Today Show, host of Talk To The Animals and presenter on 2GB’s radio show, Talking Pets.

Katrina is passionate about helping people enhance the special bond that is shared with pets, whether it be choosing the right pet for their lifestyle, solving behavioural issues or providing basic health advice. Katrina loves all animals but has a huge passion for Border Collies- particularly chocolate ones. Her beloved border collie, Toby won hearts across the country for his mischievous personality and amazing repertoire of tricks-which resulted in the original best selling book, Wonderdog.

Katrina currently shares her home with her daughter, Charlotte, a Maine Coon cat called Mr Fox and an adopted Golden Retriever called Riley. Mr Fox is definitely the boss.

Mr Fox

Maine Coon

DOB: 12/1/2010

Mr Fox

Mr Fox is a Maine Coon, which one of the largest breeds of domestic cats. He is big in size and huge in personality.

Dubbed by my young daughter as ‘the naughtiest cat in the world,’ Mr Fox certainly lives up to his name. He is a 10kg bundle of fluff who loves to be the centre of attention and is always getting up to mischief.

Definitely the entertainer of the family, Mr Fox is often seen leaping through the air to grab hold of Riley’s tail, knocking everything over in his way.

  • NICKNAMES: Foxy, Sir Foxalot, The Floof, Fluffybum
  • HOBBIES: waking Riley up, taking over Riley’s bed, smashing wine glasses, knocking over full bottles of milk, eating dangerous plastic items.
  • FAVOURITE PASTIME: playing with Riley’s tail
  • PET HATES: not being able to reach the fly on the roof.
  • BEST QUALITIES: dashingly handsome, a good sport, a wonderful bed warmer for Riley and a fun friend.

Riley

Golden Retriever

DOB: 2009. The date is unknown but I have chosen to celebrate his birthday as MAY 18, which is the day we officially adopted him

Riley

Riley was found dumped in a crate outside Griffith pound. He was flea riddled, emaciated and had horrific wounds on his legs because it is believed someone had tied him up by all four legs. Rescued by Golden Retriever Rescue, in Feb 2010, he was fostered by me ( Dr Katrina) and has never moved out.

Riley has formed a very special friendship with my cat, Mr Fox. Mr Fox rarely left Riley’s side while we nursed him back to health, grooming him and snuggling up him. Gradually, Riley became Mr Fox’s ultimate play toy, offering a lovely wagging tail to play with all day long.

Riley is a special dog- he has a beautiful nature and makes friends with everyone he meets. I’m delighted to have given him a safe and loving forever home.

  • NICKNAMES: Smiley Riley, Riley Roo, The Golden One
  • HOBBIES: eating, sleeping, sneaking onto the couch and going to the park
  • FAVOURITE PASTIME: Photo shoots so that he can flash his perfect smile and get lots of attention.
  • NAUGHTIEST DEEDS: Eating 3 tubs of Play doh, eating an entire tub of butter, eating a loaf of bread in plastic, chewing up Mr Fox’s toy mice
  • PET HATES: bindis in the park
  • BEST QUALITIES: huge heart, gentle soul, always happy and very tolerant of cats swinging off his tail.
